Launch Control Setting for OTS AccessPORT Calibrations

We are looking to release a Launch Control (LC) version of our Stage1 and Stage2 calibrations that our end users can download and Reflash to their vehicle. We would like to get your feedback as to what RPM points should be set for the Stage1 and Stage2 calibrations. When you get a moments, please direct various AP users to this thread and have them give us their input on this so we can make sure we set up the LC calibrations how people are wanting.

And the disclaimer is a must. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. This functionality has been made available at the requests of some customers. We are NOT recommending you use these calibrations, we are only making them available for those that decided on their own to use them. The use of any calibration with Launch Control enabled has the ability to damage your engine and or drivetrain, and should only be performed on a closed race course. The consequences that occur from the use of LC enabled calibrations are to be handled by the owner of the vehicle.

    Thanks,
    Christian.

    Christian--

If I remember correctly, the stock LC point is at 5000rpm...no?

For me personally I wouldn't change the LC setting...just like I don't rev my car past 7000rpm.....**** car costs enough just to maintain let alone messing around with items that the factory built in for a purpose...just my sissy-boy $0.02

I've never launched my car that high either for the fear of blowing my tranny and transfer case but from what i've read most people prefer 6k but since you dont have that choose then ill go for 5,900k.

LC map is hard on the car. You don't have one yet from the looks of Christian's post. They are now being developed.

Basically you pull a few things in the car to invoke the LC map at a stop and the puppy revs at the designated RPMS till you launch.

Ah, here is a vid of the subie with LC, it explains it better than I can.

EDIT: Your set will prob be different but this should give you a good ideal of LC. You'll be able to launch while boosting...I think.

At the end of the book Animal Farm, the worker animals look in the windows of the farm house and find the humans eating and drinking with the pigs. Somehow I think President Obama and Al Gore ETC are destined to end up at the same table as the pigs. - Anonymous

2005-2006 Evo's have factory LC set at 5,000.

2003-2004 Evo's have the hardware but it's set at 79XX in the rom so it's basically turned off. However setting it to whatever RPM you want will turn it back on.

Depending on RPM set, boost control, and mods, the car will see 7 psi + bouncing off the LC.

Here is a 05 Evo with cams, TBE, ecu-controlled boost with GM solenoid:

This setup will see a little lower boost than a MBC equipped Evo or a Evo with factory boost setting because it is tuned at 70% wgdc @ 5300rpm. If it was using 100% WGDC like stock boost it would see more boost with LC.

I did well with it at 5500, but when the stock clutch gets hot it just can't grab with a good launch. I think the solution is .....buying a twin carbon
