Default Want to get an AP!

    Hi,

I'm new to the world of Subarus, I just traded in my 2009 MS3 for a 2010 wrx. I had an ap for that car as well as numerous other upgrades. I'm looking into getting one for the wrx but the dealership i am dealing with now is pretty sticky on engine mods. Is it possible to detect an ap if i unmarry it every time i go in to the dealership? with the speed saving the stock data took forever and it was possible but took like 35min to load it all back on and saving the stock tune. Can the dealers at subaru detect ap's cuz they are so popular with subies? What type of gains numbers wise and seat of the pants feel is stage 1 like? most importantly is stage 1 "safe", have there been problems running it ie boost spikes, engine damage etc? Want to enjoy the awd with more power but don't want to blow **** up, just covering my ***.

    any suggestions would be great

    thanks in advance

Unlike the MS3, the Subarus are very consistent and respond very well to simple tuning. A stage 1 tune is a great way to make the car run like it should from the factory. In fact, these cars are very lean at WOT and full boost, like 14:1, from the factory, the AccessPORT fixes that issue. I would not hesitate for a second to put an AccessPORT on one of these cars. As far as warranty issues, I have never heard of a Subaru dealer being able to detect an AccessPORT installed or uninstalled, but you can always just uninstall the AccessPORT just to be safe.
